About Me

  Mark Farmer My name is Mark, I am 32 and from the midlands in the UK, making me a mother tongue English language speaker.    This year I moved to live in Italy, with my partner.  From Italy,  I run my own holiday business and I also work as a freelance English as a Foreign Language Teacher with classprojects.com. Currently, I have an advanced level English student, who I am successfully coaching through her English Teacher exams, an intermediate and a pre-intermediate students who I teach online.  I have held a very diverse range of jobs including, working at Mc Donalds to being a leading politician in a major UK city, responsible for over 5 billion GBP of resources.  I worked for and with Members of the British Parliament. Through
my experience as a leading public office holder for over five years, as part of my standard TEFL lessons, I can additionally offer training on presentation skills, preparing for job interviews and business/office management.  With over 10 years of experience of training, coaching and mentoring young people and adults, I have gained an understanding how to get the best from those that I work with.  As part of this, I  have supported and coached young people and adults in the development of their English skills, helping them to  write CV’s, gain employment, gain funding for community projects, and mount political campaigns; I was directly responsible for leading a group of young people on a nationwide,   votes at sixteen campaign.  I have won two
national UK awards for my work; including a commendation for excellent communication and a “Campaign of the Year award”.  I have now had the pleasure of watching a number of the hundreds of people I have worked with over the years grow and develop and move onto great things. I am qualified in a range of subjects, including IT, project management, customer services and marketing and communication skills, so can relate lessons to a wide range of subjects from a basic to very advanced level.   I am degree qualification in the support and development of young people and adults and business studies.  I am also Teaching English as Second Language Qualified (TEFL), having being trained and examined last year, by TEFL England.  I have advanced TEFL
qualifications in Business English, Teaching Technique, Grammar and Online TEFL.  My own development has taught me that students no longer want to be taught to, but want to be taught with, that is they want the teaching to be interesting, fun and interactive, but most importantly they want a supportive teacher who understands and addresses their needs.  This is what I always aim to offer.
